Our legislation to provide NYC Brewers tax relief through the additional city tax they have to pay has now been moved out of Committee and has passed the Assembly! We are now waiting for a Sentate vote for final passage…stay tuned.
Our legislation to allow farm breweries to sell farm wine and spirits by the glass has finally moved from the Economic Development Committee to the floor for an Assembly vote, which can happen any day. This has PASSED the Assembly on 6/9/16 – it is now ready for the Governors Signature!
Our legislation to exempt sales tax from tastings still sits in committee and no votes have been taken. We are hoping for a last minute push to get this done in 2016.
Sunday Blue Law legislation is seeing some resistance. We are pushing for an 8am adjustment, but a compromise may happen which would make it either 10am or 11am. Stay tuned.
The legislative session offially ends on June 17th.
