8th Annual New York City Beer Week
NYC Beer Week Opening Bash
Brooklyn Expo Center – February 25, 2017
As New Yorkers, we can all agree – New York City is the best city in the world. Why should our beer should be any different? With that in mind, we present New York City Beer Week’s first ever Opening Bash Invitational.
We’ve raised the curtain on Beer Week at Grand Central’s iconic Vanderbilt Hall. We’ve taken Opening Bash on a cruise around the NYC harbor with a pit stop at the Statue of Liberty. In 2017, we’re bringing you Opening Bash, the remix: your favorite New York City breweries invite their favorite breweries from around the world to a beer festival like none other.
Opening Bash Invitational will feature:
+ 45 of the best breweries anywhere
+ Unlimited sampling
+ A chance to meet your favorite brewers from around the country & world
+ Pop-Up Gastronomic Garden to pair with any and every beer
+ So much more to be announced over the coming months (you gotta keep some surprises…)
General Admission ticketholders will have access from 6:30-9:30pm. VIP ticketholders will be invited to enter early for our VIP hour from 5:30-6:30pm.
The NYC Brewers Guild “advocates for and promotes awareness of its local brewing members, to increase the visibility of local beers through marketing, events, and consumer education, and to foster a healthy, ethical, and growth-focused craft beer industry throughout the city.”
The purpose of the Guild is to promote craft beer which is done largely through NYC Beer Week. More than 100 bars, restaurants, and grocers (wherever craft beer is sold) throughout the city host events over the course of 10 days. Events include special tastings, tap takeovers, beer dinners, historical tours, and lectures, and more all revolving around craft beer.
